OneHealthcare ID (which includes United Healthcare, GEHA, UMR, and other related services) is currently experiencing issues with text message two-factor authentication (2FA). If you are locked out of your Onehealthcare ID account because you are not receiving your text 2FA message inside Unify, please follow the steps below to regain access and set up a more reliable authentication method.
Recommended Solution: Switch to Authenticator App
We strongly recommend setting up an authenticator app as an alternative to text 2FA. Authenticator apps provide more reliable verification and are not affected by the current text message delivery issues.
How to Access Your Account and Set Up the Authenticator App
Since you need to be logged into your account to change your 2FA settings, follow these steps to regain access:
Contact the Unify Team: Go to the Unify portal and open a chat with the Unify support team at the bottom right of your screen.
Provide Your Phone Number: Let the Unify team know which phone number you would like to receive verification phone calls on. Make sure this is a number where you can reliably receive calls.
From there, Unify will configure and set up that phone number and confirm it has been configured correctly.
Select "Via Call" for Verification: After Unify has confirmed the call forwarding is configured, attempt to log into OneHealthcare ID again. When prompted to verify your identity during login, choose the "Via Call" option instead of text message. The phone call will be forwarded to the phone number you provided to the Unify team.
Complete the Login: Answer the call and follow the automated instructions to verify your identity and complete your login.
Set Up Your Authenticator App: Once logged in, navigate to your Onehealthcare ID security settings and add an authenticator app as your primary 2FA method. Popular authenticator apps include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy.
